This is a big summer for the Northrup family. We are having a boy from Spain stay in our house for a month. He comes in late June and we are thrilled. His name is Andoni and he will be 13 years old when he lands in America.
Obviously, he will be introduced to all our friends and family. And the timing is fantastic; look at the calendar: The World Cup, The Tour de France, and the Fourth of July. Will Llorente and Villa put together a masterpiece like Emilio Butragueno did against Denmark in 86? Can Alberto Contador carry the Yellow Jersey all the way to Paris, or will Lance Armstrong find his young legs again? I have always preferred the polka dot jersey, myself...
Apart from the world stage and national holidays, Andoni will be quite busy keeping up with our four daughters and their events. The summer schedule is already packed with soccer games, golf lessons, swimming, tennis, and trips to our cabin.
We figured we would launch a blog so that we, along with our new friend Andoni, could communicate with Andoni's parents and anyone else who was interested in our summer adventures. And, in just a month's time, Andoni, himself will be contributing. Looking forward to it.
Jeff Northrup
